TIMES JATENG, JAKARTA – PCINU Turkey and PPI Bursa proudly presented a religious music art performance by Ki Ageng Ganjur on October 31, 2023. This spectacular event took place at the Ördekli Cultural Center in Bursa, Turkey, with the theme "Sufi Serenity: A Journey Through Indonesian Tasawwuf Music."
Ki Ageng Ganjur, an Islamic-inspired music group captivated the audience with their unique blend of instruments. Their performance featured Western musical elements, gamelan, and a hint of Middle Eastern artistry.
This show in Turkey is part of a series of roadshows that will involve various countries, with Saudi Arabia being one of their upcoming destinations.
Moh Munirudin, the event's organizer and Deputy Chairman of PCINU Turkey, explained the significant role of music in spreading messages of goodness.
"Music, culture, and technology are also forms of da'wah. We hope that Ki Ageng Ganjur's performance can serve as a platform for spreading da'wah messages and positive values to all individuals," Munir stated in his opening speech.
He emphasized that this event is inclusive and open to all, regardless of ethnicity, race, religion, nationality, or background. "We gather here to invite everyone to sow goodness together," Munir concluded.
Through music, Ki Ageng Ganjur delivers messages of humanity, preserves diversity, fosters brotherhood, and connects differences as evidence of Islamic civilization. Dr. Ngatawi Al-Zastrow, the founder of Ki Ageng Ganjur, highlighted the profound power of music to influence the human soul and character. He also stressed the importance of using music as a means of improvement rather than harm.
"It is essential to master music so we can use it to awaken our souls and discover the divine beauty," he emphasized.
Ki Ageng Ganjur's performance in Turkey included various elements, from Sufi chants adapted from Turkish Sufi music to the recitation of Burdah and Nariyah, a medley of regional songs, and Ki Ageng Ganjur's own composition, "Heal the World".
The event became even more vibrant when Ki Ageng Ganjur performed a special arrangement of a Turkish song as a gift to celebrate Turkey's 100th anniversary.
Participants from various countries, including Turkey, Africa, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed the captivating performance. They also had the opportunity to savor Indonesian delicacies such as cream puffs, rolled pancakes, and pandan sponge cake, enhancing this extraordinary event.
Prominent figures also graced the occasion, including Khairul Adha, the Deputy Assistant for Youth Partnerships in the Deputy for Youth Development, Ihsan Kaya, the Representative Head of the Ördekli Art and Cultural Center, Canan Hoca, and the Teacher at the Imam Hatip High School Mürat Hüdavendigar Osmangazi in Bursa.
Through the collaboration between PCINU Turkey and PPI Bursa, the religious music art performance by Ki Ageng Ganjur has provided an extraordinary experience and conveyed positive messages to all of humanity. It has encouraged unity and promoted valuable humanitarian values. (*)
